6J13/6J13P/6J13X F2 Manganin-Type Precision Resistance Wire Copper-Based Alloy for High Resistivity

6J13/6J13P/6J13X F2 Manganin-Type Precision Resistance Wire is a copper-based alloy with manganese and nickel as key components, recognized for its high electrical resistivity, minimal resistance temperature coefficient, and low thermal EMF against copper.

6J13/6J13P/6J13X F2 Manganin-Type Precision Resistance Wire is a copper-based alloy with manganese and nickel, prized for its high resistivity, low temperature coefficient of resistance, and minimal thermal EMF against copper. It features a resistivity of 0.44±0.04 μΩ·m at 20°C and a TCR of 0~40 α×10^-6/°C. The wire has a thermal conductivity of 40 KJ/m·h·°C and operates within a temperature range of 0-100°C. Mechanically, it boasts a tensile strength of 585 MPa (hard) and 390-535 N/mm2 (annealed, soft), with an elongation of 6-15%. Used in precision resistors, ammeter shunts, and electrical measuring instruments, Manganin wire also serves in cryogenic systems to reduce heat transfer between electrically connected points. Its density is 8.4 g/cm³, and it melts at 1450°C. These properties make it ideal for applications requiring stable resistance across temperatures.

Some key features of 6J13 include:

    • High Resistivity:

It boasts a resistivity of 0.44±0.04 μΩ·m, which is crucial for applications requiring high precision in resistance.

    • Low Temperature Coefficient of Resistance:

The average resistance temperature coefficient is 0~40α×10^-6/°C, ensuring stability across a range of temperatures.

    • Mechanical Strength:

The alloy exhibits a tensile strength of ≥390 MPa and an elongation rate of 6-15%, demonstrating good mechanical properties.

    • Thermal Electric Potential:

It has a low thermal electric potential against copper, ≤2μV/°C, which is beneficial for applications where low thermoelectric effects are desired.

    • Corrosion Resistance:

6J13 alloy shows good corrosion resistance, allowing it to work stably in various harsh environments.

    • Processability:

It has good workability, which can be improved through cold and hot processing techniques.

    • Physical Properties:

The density is approximately 8.3g/cm³, with a linear expansion coefficient of 14.9×10^-6/℃.

These features make 6J13 a standout material in the field of precision electrical components, where consistent performance and reliability are paramount.

    Application:

    • Electronic Components:

Due to its low coefficient of resistance and good corrosion resistance, 6J13 is extensively used in various electronic components such as resistors, thermistors, and precision potentiometers.

    • Instruments and Precision Devices:

It is an ideal material for environments requiring highly accurate and stable measurements, such as in pressure sensors and temperature compensation elements, where its excellent linear expansion properties and oxidation resistance are utilized.

    • Marine Engineering:

In marine engineering, equipment is often exposed to highly corrosive seawater. 6J13, with its excellent corrosion resistance, is commonly used to manufacture marine measuring equipment and underwater cable sheaths, enhancing the lifespan and reliability of such equipment.

    • Precision Resistance:

It is used for making wire-wound precision resistance, resistance boxes, and shunts for electrical measuring instruments.

    • Cryogenic Systems:

Manganin wire is used as an electrical conductor in cryogenic systems to minimize heat transfer between points needing electrical connections.

    • High-Pressure Shock Wave Studies:

Manganin is used in gauges for studying high-pressure shock waves, such as those generated from the detonation of explosives, due to its low strain sensitivity but high hydrostatic pressure sensitivity.

    • Resistors and Shunts:

Particularly used in the manufacture of ammeter shunts because of its virtually zero temperature coefficient of resistance value and long-term stability.

These applications leverage the unique properties of 6J13, such as its high resistivity, low temperature coefficient of resistance, and excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for a wide range of precision and stability-critical applications.
