Cr20Ni35 Nickel-Chromium-Iron Alloy With Good Mechanical Properties And Electrical Conductivity

Cr20Ni35 Nickel-Chromium-Iron Alloy with Good Mechanical Properties and Electrical Conductivity

Cr20Ni35 is a high-performance resistance alloy known for its excellent high-temperature properties and stable resistivity. It is widely used in electric heating elements, industrial furnaces, and heating equipment. This alloy is composed mainly of 20% chromium (Cr) and 35% nickel (Ni), along with small amounts of other elements such as iron (Fe), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), and carbon (C). The high content of nickel contributes to its good heat resistance and corrosion resistance, while chromium enhances the alloy's stability at high temperatures. Silicon and manganese additions improve the alloy's toughness and oxidation resistance. Key physical properties include a density of 7.9 g/cm³, a melting point of 1350-1390°C, and a resistivity of 1.04 μΩ·m at 20°C. The alloy also exhibits good mechanical strength with a tensile strength of ≥650 MPa and an elongation of ≥25%. Cr20Ni35 is valued for its high positive temperature coefficient, oxidation resistance, and thermal strength below 800°C, making it suitable for applications in thermal storage heaters, convection heaters, and various electric heating elements.
